La estera de trabajo CableSafe® para la prevención de caídas de objetos, o simplemente "estera de caída", es una herramienta que se utiliza en rejillas, pasarelas y plataformas elevadas.
Cuando se trabaja en altura, la caída de herramientas u otros equipos supone un importante riesgo para la seguridad. Normalmente, las herramientas sueltas se atan. Sin embargo, abundan los objetos que no pueden atarse, por ejemplo: tuercas, pernos, tornillos, si se dejan caer desde altura pueden dañar un equipo o causar una muerte.

A drop mat is a reusable fabric mat laid over grating, catwalks and elevated platforms so that nuts, bolts, screws and small tools cannot fall through the openings onto people or equipment below. Tools are normally tethered, but the many small items that cannot be tethered are exactly what a drop mat catches. The CableSafe Work Mat is made of high-quality German fabric with a reinforced safety-yellow hem, fixes to the grating with elastic-banded spanners or with 14 strong magnets, folds after use, and is available in flame-retardant and fire-resistant versions.

La alfombrilla de trabajo se puede asegurar con 14 potentes imanes, que se fijan a la rejilla. Los imanes en el dobladillo están clasificados para 84N cada uno por lo que es uno de los más fuertes en el mercado para asegurar que las esteras de trabajo están asegurados correctamente.

Pick the hook by the heaviest single load it will carry, not by hose diameter alone. The static load in the table is the figure to work with; when the load is dynamic or shock-loaded, ask us to check the application first.
Magnets are fastest on steel grating: 14 magnets in the hem hold the mat flat and it lifts off in seconds. Elastic-banded spanners hook through the grating and are the choice for aluminium or GRP grating and for very windy decks.
Flame retardant (coated polyester mesh, 330 N tear strength) is for heat-sensitive areas and hot-work permits where sparks may land on the mat. Fire resistant (fibreglass, double PU coating) withstands up to 550 °C and is used for welding and grinding directly above the mat.
Tethering works for tools with a securing point. Nuts, bolts, washers, fasteners and debris cannot be tethered, and an object under three pounds dropped from 30 feet can be fatal. The mat closes the gap that tethering leaves.
Mats are supplied in standard sizes and can be laid side by side to cover a platform; the reinforced hem keeps the edges flat so joints do not lift. Ask for the size list on the datasheet.
The Work Mat is used by, among others, Shell, BP, NASA, Methanex, Boskalis and QatarGas, and is written into dropped-object prevention procedures for turnarounds and offshore campaigns.
