What is the Safety Hook Light system?

The Safety Hook Light is the light-duty member of the CableSafe hook family: a system of hangers, wall hooks and adhesive patches that lifts temporary lighting, 110 V arctic cables and light hoses off the floor in maintenance, construction and data-centre work. Hangers hook onto scaffolding, cable trays and ceiling grids; wall hooks and patches create drop-down points along corridors, spaced roughly every 2 metres. No tools, no drilling, rated from 2 to 10 kg per point.

Hanger
9 × 110 V arctic cable, max 5 kg
Wall hook
9 × 110 V arctic cable, max 10 kg
Patch
6 × 110 V arctic cable, max 2 kg
Spacing
every 1.5 – 2 m
Temperature
-20 °C to +60 °C
Installation
Tool-free

Cablesafe® Safety Hook Light are the lighter version of our flaship product (Cablesafe S Hook). These cable hooks are used during maintenance, turnaround, outages, construction and other industrial work to suspend hoses, cables and work gear off the work floor. The cable wall hooks and cable wire hangers are also used in technology data centers as a cable management solution. There are three available safety hook models to choose from: Safety Hook Light Hanger, Safety Wall Hook and Safety Patches. Which safety hook would you choose?

Safety Hook Light has a fire rating of HB and are available upon request.

Safety Hook Light works for light cables. Use the Safety Hook page to explore hooks used for heavy duty cabling and construction works.

How the models differ

Specifications

The specification sheet for this article is being finalised. Ask us for the datasheet and we send it the same day.

Which size do I need?

Pick the hook by the heaviest single load it will carry, not by hose diameter alone. The static load in the table is the figure to work with; when the load is dynamic or shock-loaded, ask us to check the application first.

Frequently asked

Safety Hook Light or Safety Hook Extreme?

Use the Light system for temporary lighting and light 110 V cables indoors, where flexibility and speed matter. Use the Extreme hook for heavy cables, hoses and outdoor or hot-work areas: it carries 40 to 275 kg per hook.

What is the difference between the hanger, the wall hook and the patch?

The hanger hooks over scaffolding, cable trays and ceiling grids (max 5 kg). The wall hook is fixed to walls and ceilings for drop-down points along corridors (max 10 kg). The patch is adhesive and needs no fixings at all (max 2 kg).

Which patch grade do I need?

Grade 1 is for unfinished surfaces — steel, timber and concrete — during early construction and demolition; a special foam backing bonds to rough surfaces. Grade 2 is for finished walls and ceilings in the final stage of a project.

How far apart should the hooks be?

Space hangers, wall hooks and patches every 1.5 to 2 metres so the cable does not sag into walking height.

Is the system reusable?

Hangers and wall hooks are reused job after job. Patches are single-use adhesive points; keep a few in every crew kit.
