INDUSTRY 10 - WAREHOUSES & DISTRIBUTION CENTRES
STORAGE & WAREHOUSING SAFETY EQUIPMENT
Warehouses and distribution centres run constant forklift, pallet-truck and foot traffic across aisles that change with every pick and pack cycle. CableSafe keeps temporary cable, charging leads and equipment cord off the floor, so a busy shift doesn’t turn into a slip or trip incident.
THE SITUATION ON SITE
A warehouse or distribution centre runs on constant movement – forklifts, pallet trucks, conveyor systems and pickers all sharing the same aisles, often at high speed against tight dispatch deadlines. Any temporary cable, from a portable scanner charging station to a seasonal equipment install, is a hazard the moment it crosses that traffic.
Because much of that traffic is wheeled and heavy, cable protection in a warehouse has to survive repeated forklift and pallet-truck crossings without cracking or becoming a hazard itself. Racking and mezzanine work adds a dropped-objects risk above pick faces and packing stations, and loading dock pits and below-floor service areas bring their own confined space considerations.
CableSafe supplies warehouse and logistics facilities with a kit built for constant wheeled traffic: durable cable protection rated for forklift and pallet-truck crossings, drop-prevention nets and tool tethers for racking and mezzanine work, and confined space barriers for dock pits and service areas.
COMMON HAZARDS
Cable runs across forklift and pallet-truck aisles
Temporary cable for charging stations, scanners and seasonal equipment crosses the same aisles used by forklifts and pallet trucks moving at speed against dispatch deadlines.
Dropped objects from racking and mezzanine work
Maintenance and installation work above pick faces and packing stations puts tools and hardware directly over busy work areas below.
Unsecured dock pits and service area entries
Loading dock pits and below-floor service areas need controlled, barriered access; an unmarked opening in a high-traffic warehouse is easy to miss and easy to fall into.
CABLESAFE SOLUTIONS
Sécurité des câbles
Route charging leads and equipment cord off busy aisles with 3-channel cable guards for light runs and 5-channel cable guards for bundled leads, and lift crossings clear of forklift traffic with a heavy-duty cable stand.
Prévention des chutes d'objets
Secure tools and hardware worked at height on racking and mezzanines with a steel securing lanyard, catch what still gets dropped with a filet de sécurité antichute, and close off gaps with a combi net around temporary structures.
Sécurité des espaces clos
Mark and barrier every open entry with a manhole quick barrier, control dock pit and service area access with a barrière d'accès aux regards, and cover open pits with a cover net until work is complete.

BUILT FOR HIGH-FREQUENCY WHEELED TRAFFIC
Warehouse aisles see far more wheeled traffic than a typical construction site, so cable protection needs to be rated for repeated forklift and pallet-truck crossings, not just occasional foot traffic. CableSafe’s cable guards are built for exactly that kind of high-frequency, heavy-duty use.
Seasonal peaks and shift changes mean equipment often has to go up and come down fast, so everything in the range is designed to deploy quickly with a small team and to be reused across every peak season rather than written off after one use.
WHY WAREHOUSE AND LOGISTICS TEAMS SPECIFY CABLESAFE
Westmark B.V., the company behind CableSafe, has been supplying safety hardware to industrial and logistics sites since 1991 – long enough to know that warehouse aisles take a beating a typical office or retail floor never sees.
Our cable guard and barrier ranges are built to the standards your safety officer already checks against: EN 1263-1 for netting systems, and the general secondary-retention and dropped-objects principles behind DROPS guidance for tools and equipment used at height.
Every product ships with the documentation your HSE file needs, and our team can spec a full kit list against your facility layout so nothing gets improvised on the day.
