THE SITUATION ON SITE
Portable maintenance units – generators, compressors, pumps, welding sets and similar equipment – are typically parked as close as possible to the job, which usually means directly in or beside an active walkway, work area or vehicle route.
Every one of these units needs power, air or fluid lines running to and from it, and those lines cross ground that other people are walking, working and driving over for as long as the unit is on site – sometimes for the length of an entire maintenance job.
