Offshore platforms, onshore fields and refinery turnarounds all run on temporary cabling, hoses and lifting gear that has to survive vibration, weather and 24/7 traffic. CableSafe keeps that gear off the deck and off the walkway, so a routine shift doesn’t turn into a recordable incident.

During a platform turnaround or a well pad build-out, the number of active leads on the ground can triple overnight: welding leads, air hoses, temporary lighting strings, instrumentation cable, ROV umbilicals. Every one of them is a trip hazard the moment it crosses a walkway, a stair tower or a laydown area, and on an offshore installation there is nowhere to reroute a cable except up.

Add height – derricks, flare booms, drilling floors, monkey boards – and the same congestion becomes a dropped-objects problem too. A dropped spanner from a drill floor or a hand tool from a platform crane deck can be fatal on the level below, which is why IADC and most major operators now require secondary retention on hand tools and equipment worked at height as standard practice, not an afterthought.

CableSafe’s role on an oil & gas site is to give the HSE team a standard kit they can specify once and deploy everywhere: non-conductive, corrosion-resistant cable protection that keeps leads off the floor, tool tethering and drop-prevention nets that stop objects at height from becoming falling objects, and confined space barriers for the tank entries, cellars and vessels that dot every process area.

Short-duration work packages route dozens of temporary leads across the same walkways and stair towers other crews are using, multiplying slip and trip exposure exactly when headcount on site is highest.

Derricks, drill floors, flare structures and platform crane decks put tools and hardware directly over occupied levels below – a dropped item at height is one of the leading causes of serious injury on upstream sites.

Equipment on an oil & gas site has to earn its place twice: once on the safety case, and once against salt spray, UV, chemical splash and the sheer physical abuse of a working platform or well pad. CableSafe’s cable guards and barriers use corrosion-resistant, non-conductive materials so they hold up offshore and stay safe to use near live electrical work and instrumentation.

Because kit gets deployed and struck down repeatedly across a turnaround schedule, everything in the CableSafe range is designed to go up and come down fast with a small crew, and to survive being reused across the next shutdown rather than being written off after one campaign.
