HAZARD ZONE - WORKING AT HEIGHT
WORKING AT HEIGHT SAFETY
Falls from height remain one of the leading causes of workplace death and serious injury. Every tool, part or piece of equipment carried up also becomes a dropped-object risk for anyone working or walking below – working at height is a two-way hazard.
THE SITUATION ON SITE
Scaffolds, elevated platforms, ladders, rooftops and structural steel all put workers above ground level, and every one of those positions carries the same underlying risk: a fall, and a dropped object onto whoever is working or walking below.
A tool belt, a bag of fittings, a loose bolt – anything not secured at height becomes a projectile the moment it slips, and the energy of even a small object falling any real distance is enough to cause a serious injury or fatality below.
CableSafe equips work-at-height crews with tool tethering and catch-net systems that keep equipment secured at height and catch what does get dropped, protecting both the person at height and everyone working underneath.
COMMON HAZARDS
Dropped tools and equipment
A tool, fastener or piece of equipment not tethered or contained at height falls freely, gaining enough energy over even a short distance to seriously injure someone below.
Unprotected edges and gaps in netting
Scaffold and platform edges without fall-arrest netting or barriers leave a gap for both people and objects to go over the side.
No exclusion zone below
Work at height without a marked and enforced exclusion zone below means ground crews, pedestrians or other trades may be working directly under an active drop hazard.
CABLESAFE SOLUTIONS
منع الأجسام الساقطة
Tool tethers, catch nets and fit-to-size netting secure equipment at height and stop dropped objects before they reach ground level.
سلامة الكابلات
Cable stands and guards keep power and tool cables running to elevated work areas organized and off walkways at ground level.
PROTECTING BOTH DIRECTIONS - UP AND DOWN
Working at height safety is usually framed around fall protection for the person at height – harnesses, guardrails, anchor points. Dropped objects prevention is the other half of the equation, protecting everyone working or walking beneath that same elevated work area.
CableSafe tool tethers and catch-net systems are designed to fit around existing scaffold and platform structures without interfering with fall-arrest equipment already in use, adding a second layer of protection rather than replacing the first.
WHY HEIGHT-WORK TEAMS SPECIFY CABLESAFE
Westmark B.V., trading as CableSafe, has supplied industrial safety hardware since 1991. Our tethering and netting systems are built for daily use on active scaffolds and elevated platforms, not a one-time install.
Our netting products are manufactured to relevant EN 1263-1 standards for netting strength and durability, and our tethering approach follows international dropped-objects prevention (DROPS) guidance.
CableSafe dropped-objects equipment is specified by site HSE teams across construction, oil and gas, petrochemical, mining and manufacturing wherever work at height happens over occupied space below.
